We’re thrilled to announce our surveyor Lauren Holland has yet another recognition for her work as an ambassador for women in construction having been shortlisted for the Positive Role Model Award in the gender category for the National Diversity Awards.
The National Diversity Awards recognises the hard work and achievement of charities, communities and individuals in tackling issues in today’s society. The black-tie awards ceremony sponsored by ITN celebrates equality, diversity and inclusion irrespective of race, faith, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability and culture.
Through her work as a STEM ambassador and spokesperson for Murphy Surveys Lauren has worked hard to promote gender diversity in construction and engineering.
Lauren Holland comments:
“I’m truly honored to be nominated as a positive role model in the National Diversity Awards. The construction industry is heavily male dominated and although I am lucky that at Murphy Surveys we are 24% female, which is amazing, we need more diversity in our industry. That’s why I became a STEM ambassador and have started going into schools to talk about surveying to show that not only do men work in this industry, but we can wear a hard hat and steel toe caps too.”
We would welcome our industry friends and colleagues to support Lauren in being shortlisted for this prestigious award by nominating for her on the event website.
The deadline for nominations is midnight today 31 May 2019.
Good luck Lauren!
