Murphy Surveys UK Shortlisted in the Civil Engineering Tunnelling Awards 2016

Murphy Surveys UK Ltd have been shortlisted in the Civil Engineering Tunnelling Awards following the first stage of judging. The entry titled ‘Laser scan real-time Monitoring’ is one of only 5 entries in the ‘Ground Investigation and Monitoring’ category that has made it through to the next stage of the competition.

The entry focused on the online and real time use of laser scanning and wireless tilt sensor monitoring of structures, buildings and tunnels on a prestigious Regent’s Park project in London.

With the support of Leica Geosystems, the team integrated 3 Leica MS50 multi-stations in their solution, replacing the traditional reflector monitoring systems. Using off the shelf Leica Geomas software with some additional features made this possible and went to prove that the accuracy shown was on par with the more traditional methods.

Murphy Surveys continues to strive for excellence and innovation across our entire portfolio of over 30 services throughout the UK and Ireland and recognition within the industry is always an honour for the entire team.

The overall winner will be announced at the awards which take place Thursday 8th December with a lunchtime ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane. We’re all keeping our fingers and toes crossed as we wish the UK team the best of luck moving forward and a huge congratulations on their achievement thus far.
