Murphy Surveys Subsurface Mapping Project Shortlisted for Project of the Year at the Digital Construction Awards
We’re proud to announce that our recent subsurface mapping project to map 450m of underground sewers in Birmingham, has been shortlisted for Project of the Year at the inaugural Digital Construction Awards 2018. The Digital Construction Awards in association with the UK BIM Alliance, celebrate the advancements and expertise demonstrated through the adoption of digital technologies and processes in design, construction and engineering.
“It’s a great achievement to be recognised by the judges and shortlisted for the Digital Construction Awards in the Project of the Year category,” commented Colin Murphy Director, Murphy Surveys. “The project commissioned by St Joseph Homes, part of the Berkeley Group Plc, required a full underground utility survey to locate and map the position of a complex sewer network in Birmingham. The sewers some 15 meters below ground, 1500mm diameter, meant we were working in an extremely confined environment, with the added challenge of the changing water levels, so, this award shortlist is a true testament to the hard work, dedication and knowledge of the 25+ team in safely overcoming the sheer complexity of such a hazardous high risk site.”
Cofounder and Event Director Oliver Hughes commented “We’ve had an incredible response to the awards especially given it’s the first year. What’s been great is to see so many innovative ideas and examples of how technology is really starting to shape the industry and the tangible results of this.”
The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday 17 October in London during Digital Construction Week.
Good luck to the team!
