Murphy Surveys joins The 5% Club to support the next generation of surveyors

We’re proud to announce that we have become a member of The 5% Club, an industry led initiative focused on the training, development and recruitment of apprentices, graduates and students.

The 5% Club, initiated by Leo Quinn CEO of Balfour Beatty in 2013, is a movement of more than 350 employers providing ‘earn and learn’ opportunities to develop the skills and talents people need to become more employable. Companies joining The 5% Club commit to raising the number of apprentices, sponsored students and graduates on formal programmes to 5% of their total workforce within five years.

‘At Murphy Surveys we’re committed to safeguard the future of our industry and The 5% Club is just one of a number of initiatives we are involved with to help attract more people to join our profession and create meaningful careers,’ commented Kai Duebbert Managing Director Murphy Surveys UK. ‘We support the continuous development and learning of our staff not only to support our organisation’s needs, but also to each individual’s aspiration, in fact we sponsor over 15% of our staff to attend a part-time, externally accredited course.’

‘Learning plays a pivotal role in our organisation. We know that our employees want to be part of something larger, something exceeding self-interest and we want to support them. In a fast-paced industry where changes are rapid and ground-breaking, we know that learning can be the cornerstone of our practice and through new thinking and approaches we can demonstrate true value to our clients.’

Lady Cobham, Director General of The 5% Club said, “We’re delighted to welcome Murphy Survey. The 5% Club provides a fantastic network of HR professionals, sharing and learning from each other. All our members share an ethos of creating a skilled workforce through ‘earn and learn’ development programmes, helping people develop meaningful career paths.”
