Engaging the future at MIPIM 2019

Engaging the future and improving asset performance are just some of the topics being discussed at MIPIM 2019 12-15 March in Cannes, France. Approaching its 30 year anniversary, MIPIM is the leading event for international property professionals, aiming to provide a platform to network and share information and opportunities in real estate.

Colin Murphy, Development Director, Murphy Surveys shares his insights ahead of the event:

‘The last 12 months has seen the property landscape evolve with urban regeneration projects taking centre stage and retail spaces transforming to reflect changing consumer habits. As a result we’re seeing a growth in investors and property owners coming to us to reduce the risk of their investment and planning decisions with accurate area referencing and 3D BIM projects.’

‘We’re also seeing clients approach us to measure and model very large complex spaces such as shopping centres, warehouses, production factories and airports. Allowing developers, facilitates managers and designers get an accurate understanding of the entire site to more effectively manage, design and fit assets, as well as improve visualization with digital maps, virtual and augmented reality experiences, and indoor navigation. From a construction point of view, construction managers can use this data to gain more transparency by remotely inspecting and sharing site information, promoting collaboration across the supply chain.’

‘As we look to the future, there’s definitely an appetite amongst our clients to harness the power of geospatial certainty and the digital world to unlock efficiency across the property lifecycle and reduce any ambiguity with investment decisions. We’re also particularly excited about discussions we’re having about the design and development of smart cities and autonomous transport.’

The Murphy Surveys team including Colin Murphy will be at MIPIM, so if you’re an investor, property owner, architect, or facilities manager attending the event, and want to discuss how geospatial data, from 3D BIM, 2D AutoCAD, area referencing, laser scanning and rapid 3D and VR photo models can help support your investment, design and planning projects, please contact 0203 598 3775 or cmurphy@murphysurveys.co.uk
