Dave Graham - Associate Director
As a company Associate Director responsible for the management, development and day-to-day operations of the geophysical, utility and oil/ gas mapping divisions within Murphy Surveys and an employee of Murphy Surveys for over ten years, Dave has created and developed new survey divisions that offer unparallel services within the survey industry. Dave is often called upon for his expertise and advice by consulting engineers and architects at the design stage on projects. A graduate of the Institute of Technology Bolton Street, Dave holds a diploma in Geodetic Surveying.
With over 10 years experience in geospatial and geophysical engineering, Dave has been directly involved in a large number of civil projects in Ireland and the UK. Dave has honed his project management skills working on prestigious projects for private and state companies. He has also worked in conjunction with multinational joint venture companies to successfully manage projects requiring multi disciplined resources.
When not developing and expanding the business, Dave is a very keen rugby fan and motoring racing enthusiast. If he is not following the Irish & Munster teams, he is following the grand prix around the globe. Dave is not just a competent organic gardener but a dab hand in the kitchen and loves to spend time cooking for his family and friends.
Dave is a professional member of the Irish Institution of Surveyors.

Stan Schoene - Associate Director
Stan joined Murphy Surveys in 2003 and is now our IT Manager. The smooth and efficient running of the business in the field and in the office demands the use of the latest in technologically advanced survey equipment and an IT and facilities structure that is second to none. As Head of IT, Stan is responsible for the development, expansion and maintenance of the IT and facility infrastructure within Murphy Surveys. Stan recently project managed the installation of an upgraded IT infrastructure across the whole company, which was huge project and hugely successful.
Stan’s interest in gardening is what helps him relax and unwind. When not tending to his organic plot, Stan loves spending time outdoors and loves to ski and go hill walking. A native of Germany and not content with being fluent in just English, Stan is also learning to speak French.
Stan holds a BSc in Geomatics and is undertaking an MSc in Economics.

Barry O'Keeffe - Manager Cork Office
Having previously gained experience as an Oceanic Geophysicist and Hydrographic surveyor, Barry has been working with Murphy Surveys since 2005. Barry worked closely with Colin Murphy and helped establish the Cork office stepping to the helm in 2006. He is now responsible for the day to day operations, growth and development in the Cork office in addition its efficient management and logistics.
Since joining Murphy Surveys, Barry has amassed considerable experience working on large scale and influential projects throughout the country and has a particular interest in 3D Laser Scanning & Flood Plain Surveys. A graduate of University College Cork with a degree in Earth Science, Barry also holds a Diploma in Environmental Impact Assessment Management from University College Dublin.
When Barry isn’t holding the reigns of our Cork office, you will find him spending the weekends surfing up and down the Irish Coast. When the waves let Barry down you are more likely to see him biking down the side of a mountain, both of these pursuits have influenced many adventures far and near. Since the birth of his daughter Jessica last year, Barry has taken to tricycles, swings and slides and no doubt Jessica will be surfing with her Dad before she is three!
Barry is a member of the Institution of Surveyors.

Robert Twiss - Financial Controller
Robert, our company Financial Controller has over 18 years experience in various marketplaces including retail, manufacturing and the service industry. Most of his career has been focussed on working with SMEs throughout Europe with the main focus being in Irish and UK markets.
A graduate of Carlow and Waterford Institutes of Technology, Robert holds a National Certificate in Business Studies and is an “Associate Chartered Institute of Management Accountants” (A.C.M.A.) qualified accountant.
When Robert isn’t watching our purse strings and managing our finances, being an avid polo player and Hunt rider, he trains with and tends to his 8 horses and manages the veritable menagerie he owns with his family which currently includes 2 Dogs, 2 Cats, 8 Horses, 15 Geese, 5 hens, 4 Ducks and 1 Pot Belly Pig!

Diarmuid Murphy -
Having studied Construction Economics & Management, Diarmuid worked as Junior Quantity Surveyor for a 3 year period. Whilst in this role, Diarmuid worked as an assistant to his senior Quantity Surveyors on many prestigious projects in Healthcare & Leisure. His ability to efficiently manage projects saw him become the on-site Quantity Surveyor for the demolition and construction of a new hotel, conference and leisure centre.
One vital aspect of Diarmuid’s role is the efficient management of our many surveying teams and their daily workload in addition to the appropriate allocation of our extensive range of technologically advanced equipment to the relevant site. This is critical to enable us to deliver all our projects within the deadlines agreed and to the exacting standards that we demand.
The speed with which we can have teams on-site and work completed, without compromise to our clients and their projects, is a key element of our success.
When Diarmuid is not managing the operations of the business, he is a very keen sportsman. A glutton for punishment, Diarmuid, with his brothers, has taken part in various endurance events such as the Four Peaks Challenge and Gaelforce West. A keen rower and an experienced cyclist, if he can challenge himself through sport, he will !

Thomas Downing - Manager East London Office
An employee of Murphy Surveys since 2002, Thomas worked extensively on Topographic Surveys and Setting Out in addition to other areas of surveying. From 2005, Thomas was heavily involved in our prestigious pipeline projects and worked closely with Dave Graham in this respect. As a result of Thomas’s dedication, his proven management skills and his considerable survey knowledge he relocated to our office in London where he has gained extensive measured building survey experience. Thomas is now responsible for the day to day operations of our Woolwich office where he manages surveyor scheduling, processing of jobs and liaison between our clients and our surveyors. Thomas holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Land Surveying from the University of Pretoria.

Eugen Niculae - Manager West London Office
Since gaining his Masters in Engineering Surveying in 1998, Eugen has amassed extensive experience as a surveyor working on various projects for the Romanian National Electricity Company and the Romanian Army. On arrival in Ireland in 2001, he worked as a senior surveyor and project manager for 5 years before joining Murphy Surveys in 2006. Initially based in our head office, his experience as a survey specialist and project manager in addition to his leadership skills made him a natural choice for managing the Ealing office. In May 2008, under the guidance and management of Colin Murphy, Eugen was charged with the establishment and development that office.
Eugen is a Fellow of the Irish Institution of Surveyors, an Associate Member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors and Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
