Utility Mapping
Often the geographic location of items such as pipes, cables, ducts, sewers, foul and surface water drainage as well as the identification of defects, voids and buried structures is recorded on inferior quality maps and in some cases it is not documented at all. Excavation damage can be largely avoided when reliable information regarding location and description of underground utilities is available. This enables repair and replacement to be carried out in the optimal manner.

Murphy Surveys use cutting edge technologies including Ground Penetrating Radar in order to detect, trace and map all of the information. We are also capable of providing highly accurate surveying of markings using global positioning systems (GPS) or optical total stations. The detailed use of our range of survey solutions, enable us to provide you with a complete picture both above and below the ground. This combined with detailed survey data, is used to make utility maps or overlays for geographic information systems (GIS).

Manhole & Drainage Services
In accordance with the requirements of our clients, Murphy Surveys can perform detailed manhole surveys, examining areas such as cover and invert levels, chamber size, shaft size, pipe diameters, flow direction and inter-connectivity. Such surveys will also provide information on the overall condition of the manhole.
