Measured Build

Using the latest in survey technology, Murphy Surveys brings the real-world building into the virtual environment of computer aided design (CAD).
Measured Build Surveys
Floor plans and sections are a vital element of any refurbishment, redesign or fit-out. In many cases the original plans of a building are not available. With older buildings, plans may differ greatly from the current structure or may never have existed. Our surveyors can carry out full or partially controlled measured building surveys in accordance with your requirements, budget and specification. Using reflectorless total-station and hand-held lasers, measurements are observed quickly and accurately.
Floor Plans
Our use of the latest in mobile software enables us to generate plans instantaneously. Using hand-held computers, our surveyors generate drawings in the field - this directly reduces our CAD processing time in the office.
Sections & Elevations
An additional aspect of the field procedure employed by our surveyors is the generation of sections and elevations. The level of detail to which we work, is dictated to us by our clients.
Elevations: These can now be measured using the same technology as is used when generating floor plans. This allows for non-contact measurement of a building façade, meaning that those previously inaccessible parts of a building can now be accurately measured and included as never before.
Sections: When the precise location of the room features on each floor is combined with the easy heighting of objects using a laser distance measurer, accurate sections can be provided throughout any part of the building.
3D Models & Visualisations
3D visualisation provides you with accurate, detailed reference information. Murphy Surveys can create a wire frame or rendered 3D model of any building or interior. This can then be used for example, in site analysis, sketch line drawings for initial proposals, flat colour for 3D analysis and design, photographic sharpness for finished presentations or brochure shots and photomontage for planning permission applications.
Instruments
All of our Leica Total Stations have reflectorless electronic distance measuring (EDM) which allows us determine angles and distances from the instrument to points to be surveyed. Remote measurement such as this is very useful when dealing with features such as irregular spaces or high ceilings. Our building surveyors also use Disto Laser measuring and handheld laser lines to guarantee precise and efficient internal measurement.
