Elevated Photography

Murphy Surveys have long been at the forefront of land surveying in Ireland. In our quest to remain leaders in our field we constantly search for new and innovative technologies and approaches to further enhance our offerings to you. The creation of our Photographic Survey division highlights this commitment and the importance we apply to data capture and its presentation.
Photographic Surveys
Elevated Photography
Through our elevated photography, we can offer a unique and exciting perspective to any existing or proposed project.
With the aid of our portable telescopic mast, our photography is taken from an elevated position with varying heights up to 50 feet (15m) and offering 360° views. This method is proving invaluable for presenting a complete overview of a particular project or structure.
Elevated photography has a multitude of uses from providing timeline photography on large scale constructions or just for one-off shots for pre-planning or showcase photography. As a record for construction, conservation or promotion, elevated photography from Murphy Surveys will give an unrivalled illustration of any building or site. When used in conjunction with our topographical or subsurface surveys, you are given a full overview of the whole project.
Rectified Photography:
Rectified photography can be used to record building facades where a conventional survey proves impractical. A rectified photograph provides an accurate and extensive visual record of a structure.
Uniquely, it will also provide a visual record of the structure's composition including any subtle changes contained therein. Rectified Photography is particularly useful for architectural conservation or archaeological record. As the photography is processed in a CAD environment we can extract linework to suit your needs now or at any time in the future.
Ortho-rectified Photography:
An ortho-rectified photograph is a photograph that has been geometrically corrected and can therefore be considered equivalent to a map. This ortho-photograph will allow the client to obtain dimensions directly from the photograph. As with rectified photography any linework may be extracted from the photograph in the CAD environment.
Ortho-Photo Mosaic:
As the name implies this is a process of combining several Ortho-photos to provide an overall representation of multiple facades. It proves particularly useful in areas where several adjacent structures need to be considered in a single facade for a particular project. Once again any linework required by the client may be extracted by our technical experts in the CAD environment.
